Irradiated wasteland apocalypse and CyberPunk

Lets talk all things Mad Max and, less abundant, all things William Gibson in Metal format!

These two sounds lend themselves so well to Metal it's quite obvious why we have so many Thunderdomes and motor gang warfare and gasoline explosions out there for Metal, but where has all the William Gibson gone? Impress me with a Metal product that invokes the Cyber Punk atmosphere and I will personally send you a gift via mail! No joke!

Anyways I specialize in god damn ****ing apocalypse Metal, so I'm going to start dropping bombs from Hell!

Did you just hear that? That was Venom making love to an irradiated Mad Max from behind!

There's a history lesson for ya!

Fenriz probably worships this right about now.

Lets cause some mayhem!

I've nothing to bring to the table that you wouldn't know, but here's a few obvious ones for all to hear:

...and some NWOBHM. While not exactly thematically spot-on, I find the feel and attitude to be appropriate.

Also VOIVOD

Sadistic Exekution is so god damn excellent. A lot of the more try-hard "chaos" sounding bands out there can take a lesson from their assault! Legitimate "turn the garage into hell" sound to be heard from them. Never got a chance to meet the guys unfortunately.

I love that underneath all the fukk in a lot of their music you can still find the song writing core that is so essential to make more straight forward metal so memorable. Like in their self titled song posted its really easy to make out the "song" underneath everything. Fukkin chaos.

The verse riff on Elektrokution is easily the catchiest they've ever written. It's so belligerent

HIGH VOLTAGE

Immediately thought of Wastelander and Children of Technology, but you lads are right on the money. I'll be monitoring this thread, some good stuff being posted!

Put Wastelander on the list of "Release one amazing album then disappear" artist.

I thought to myself, "Wow a whole day when I will be doing nothing but drinking coffee at the computer... Oh hello UG how ya been?"

I left in such haste due to the dismay of Your Move's dismal attendance but anyways....

I'm digging all of this. Voivod would be the obvious one (for me), but everything else is new to me. Where did you guys find all these releases?

Speaking of William Gibson, I'm finishing up Neuromancer for the first time. Great novel.

Can't really explain my love of Mad Max, Ghosts...of The Civil Dead, and movies of that ilk. I guess growing up in a lush green, normal environment made me yearn for arid chaos. Cool thread.

Hit the gym and did some oly lifts and deadlifts to Sadistik Exekution's K.A.O.S today. Had me more pumped than i've been in months. The really ****ing madness sections sometimes even remind me of SYL haha. The energy is ridiculous.

Yeah definitely, I have nothing but love for City and Alien. I had been wasting away these past two months and finally manned up and lifted some heavy shit, felt good.

This has me excited as a school girl;

Alongside Star Citizen, that's probably my most anticipated upcoming game at the moment. Cyberpunk shit by the makers of The Witcher? "Shut up and take my money!"

Any of you guys read Riddley Walker? It's not quite cyberpunk but it's damn good post-nuclear-apocalypse literature.

Dishammer - Pain In The Ass

Celtic Frost - Circle of the Tyrants

Motto of this story, play Celtic Frost and you are guaranteed to make kick ass metal.

Fantastic. I just finished reading vol. 1 of Akira while listening to the Blade Runner soundtrack, and now this thread. My contribution would be Aspid-Where The Night, but I'm far too lazy to attempt to put up a link with this phone.
