"Forbidden Links"...,Who Makes that Decision...?

I see more and more posts with hyperlinks erased and "[forbidden link]" in their place.

Are these decisions being made by the forum software, or the moderators?

I recently tried to link a YouTube video by The Strawbs, "Hero & Heroine". I returned to the thread to find "[forbidden link]" in its place.

To the best of my knowledge, there are no profanity, no lewd behaviour, pornography, or redirect attempts involved. In short, it's a simple YouTube music video.

It's not blocked here in the US, I obviously can't speak to elsewhere.

In other cases it seems to be links to a product someone would like forum members to evaluate before they plunk their cash down.

Many instances of link censoring I've seen, have involved respected members of the community, not 1st day join, then spam adbot "members"...
