Acoustic nut on a electric guitar
Hey guys! I want to put a new nut on my fender strat that will be more suitable for heavier strings. Is it possible to use an acoustic nut for an electric guitar so the slots are bigger?

It's better just to get a nut that matches the gauge you want and the string spacing of your guitar.

You don't 'get' a nut. You have one custom cut to your guitar. Every guitar should have the nut filed by hand. Other wise you will have high action at the nut end of the neck, which makes it hard to play and screws up intonation.
