Now I'm starting Neverwhere for a class and I'm just not feeling it. It's coming off as boring typical fantasy stuff I'd see in any episode of Dr. Who or whatever. Maybe that's just not my style? I like fantasy a lot, at least in theory but this isn't clicking. But I'm also being pretty lazy with it so it's probably not his fault

China mieville is the best modern fantasist so screw Gaiman

Has anyone else read The Commitments by Roddy Doyle? I thought it was marvellous. Does anyone know of any similar books?

Looking to read something by Haruki Murakami, could anyone recommend me one of his to pick up please? Thanks.

Also, on the odd chance anyone has read anything by Laszlo Krasnahorkai (the guy who wrote the books that satantango and the werckmeister harmonies were based on), is he worth checking out?

Thank you very much in advance.
