Better humbuckers for my guitar
I have a Kramer Striker with a schaller floyd rose set in it. I have a H-S-H setup. So my neck is a SH1N, SSL-5, bridge is a SH-5. All seymour duncun too. Should i change some of my pickups? I really like the SH5, and i use the SSL-5 here and there. However don't care much for the SH1N. Doesn't sound beefy enough. Doesn't seem right sitting with the SH-5 and SSL-5....

You're probably better off asking in the building/customising forum - like here http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/foru...d.php?t=1282071
I will hunt down and stab the first person to say new amp, by the way.

What type of music do you play?
Are you after something with a higher output or just a shifted EQ to favour bass frequencies? Does the replacement have to be from Seymour Duncan? ![]()

YOU NEED A NEW ****ING AMP! Look into bareknuckle pickups. They are $400 a set but probably worth it.

I've got Bareknuckle Single Coils in my Tele... which is use to play metal. I know guys that use Bareknuckle humbuckers, every single one of us love them, definitely worth the price tag. The important thing is regardless of what sound you want, they do everything. My amp is a Peavey Valveking head, which people have said is crap for metal yet I get great results from it! End of the day it's all down to what you prefer yourself, watch some youtube videos, ask your mates what they have in their guitars and if you can test them out?

It definitely could be as simple as pickup height adjustment, a lot of players underestimate how much pickup height can effect tone. If you have raised your pickups you probably put them too close, something noobs are known to do because they think it adds gain and makes it teh br00talz. Considering your other pickups are fat enough already I doubt it's your amp's or pedal's settings or type. It could be the pickup, but first try adjusting the height up and down in small increments and you may find that sweet spot that has what you want. Especially try moving it down, as the treble will decrease with distance which might give you the thicker sound you want. |

To be honest i have a Line 6 Spider III amp, 75w. I'd really like to get a Peavey amp at some point, under $400 if possible. I play mostly metallica, iron maiden, judas priest, megadeth, slayer, black sabbath, ect. And really mostly rhythm, however i do learn simple solos every once in a while. Like Sweating Bullets and Aces High.
