Most major bands these days are formed by labels by studio musicians. Just about every really big earner out there is their own version of Toto or Led Zeppelin. It's easier to take a chance of pro musicians smooshed together and told to write songs than to sign the hometown hero and hope things work out beyond their local following.
Moral: Learn your scales, kids.

I thought they'd dropped the 360 deal in the 80's...

Or you could, you know, learn composition skills instead. Scales are an incredibly limited tool, especially when we're teaching them to new guitarists (who don't know enough about music generally to understand that learning scales and box positions are NOT as useful as they think). |

My goodness, here it is one week later and I have to answer your reply--many pardons. Okay to answer the first question--I go through the titles of threads and I start reading through them and if I come across something that looks interesting, I respond. I don't pay any attention to the "little icons" in front. I ignore those completely. As for the second part, I realize that most conversations flow along, but I don't have an internet connection at home. The only time I can use the internet is when I am at a coffee shop with free WiFi. And the only time I do this is once a week usually on Sunday. What am I supposed to do, go more frequently onto the internet? ron666 |
