Black Sabbath influenced band

Hey there!

I play guitar in a hard rock / heavy metal band called Wreck Plus.

We recorded a 5 track EP quite recently. Our main influences are Black Sabbath, ZZ Top, Trouble, Kiss, Deep Purple, and a lot of blues. We also like thrash and doom metal.

Give me some links of your band, if you want. Maybe I can give you a good feedback.

I hope you'll like it. I'm quite curious about what you'd think of it.

Sabbath was the band that got me into music in the first place. Your band does reminiscently remind me of Sabbath, something in the riffs and the drumming but I wouldn't come to that conclusion without guidance.

That being said, I really like it. It has sort of a classic/80s feel to me which is really appealing. I ended up listening to most of the EP; the songs were varied enough and fun to listen to. Nice writing.

The production is a little wonky to my ears. Is that a real drum kit? Is the bass DI'd? Either way, it's more than good enough to sell, just sounds weird to me.

Glad I clicked this link.

Have you ever heard of a band called Sir Lord Baltimore? Check them out. They kick so much ass, and you remind me of them. By the commutative property, you also kick a lot of ass. I'm really digging the almost film-noir sound of "Flying Dutchman".

Really cool stuff! Pretty solid riffin. Like others said, your stuff is pretty solid and original, but the production isn't up to par. Overall I think this project has potential.

Pro - Good vintage feel
- Original writing and surprising turns
- Nice variety throughout the EP.

Con - Production sounds like amateur work
- Vocal performance is just allright, does the job but nothing more. I think it could be a bit tighter.

Thanks guys for telling me what you think! I was worried with the reactions of some friend, they were pretty indifferent to it .

Thanks a lot!

Artemis, yeah it's a real drumkit! Maybe it's the reverb on the snare that makes you feel that way. Or maybe because the kick lost a lot of attack with the mastering. But yeah it's definately not a machine!
The bass went to an amp though a DI, we picked up the two signals from the DI and the bass Amp.
