and also, what model amp do you recommend? not just for this particular distortion, but just in general. I'm starting kinda new, and I don't know where to start looking or what the difference is. (if you couldn't tell, my genre is hard rock)

Scooping is when you have lots of Bass and Treble but Relatively low mid

". its just cuting out midrange frequencies, and its called scooping because on a graphic EQ, when you cut out the mid freqencies, it looks like theyve been "scooped" out. it gives you a hollow sound, and on certain amps, it can give you a crunchy sound. use it sparingly though, in a band situation, you wont be able to cut through the mix unless you have a good amount of mids"

As for amps recommendations, I'd make a new post. You'll get A LOT more input.

And also, is it at least possible to get something like My Chemical Romance's first album?

I'd Try a decedent amount of mids and a nice amount of treble, keep the bass low.

Franks tone is Similar imho but has less mid (still a bunch though. NO SCOOPING) and A load of treble.

You might have gotten better responses in the pedalboard thread or the quick questions thread.

Use an E-bow.
