Epiphone Explorer Tuners?
Does anyone know the part number or model number for the Grover tuners on the Epi Explorer? Having a hard time due to different names (Mid-size, Mini, etc.) part numbers and lack of specs.
Need chrome or nickle for a 2005 Korean model Explorer. Thanks, |

You could always pull one out and measure it with a pair of calipers.

You should upgrade to locking tuners. The Grover Rotomatics have a 16:1 ratio, these Planet Waves tuners are 18:1.
http://www.planetwaves.com/pwProduc...hines_6_in_line I replaced the Grovers on my Gibson SG, and my Epi SG with the Planet Waves. The greater tuning precision, stability and speed of restringing is worth it - especially since they are priced so close the the cost of the Grovers. |

You need Grover Mini Rotomatics.
Without the "mini" you have tuner buttond as big as on the Epiphone Flying V.

Wrong tab angle.
Ordered the 406's, I'll let you know if they work (if anyone cares.) |

Btw, that diagram was from StewMac. Great resource for tuner specs.

Unless you want Grover part numbers (they only have their own.) BTW.
The Grover 406 series are an exact replacement and the locking units work well. Don't know if they still make the non-locking version. You are on your own trying to figure out what Stewd Mack has. Last edited by TVeye : 02-07-2013 at 03:13 AM. Reason: Update |
