Crazy neck problem
Fender Tele Custom with a new neck is giving me lots of trouble. I've intonated and tuned and check it all numerous times. The G is in tune and intonated but plays very sharp from the first to about the fifth fret. No clue what it could be. Anyone have any ideas?

What kind of nut? the nut is probably too high.

I'm pretty sure I fixed it. The nut was a bit high, the action was a bit low, and the string itself had a real strange tone to it. So I fixed all three of those things and it's now sounding acceptable.
