set list on the axe

Ok so I see there a thread to having a set list. Perhaps this question has already been addressed.

I saw a video recently of a guy talking about having your set list taped onto your (acoustic) guitar, so that it's obviously always near by, able to read and stuff. Then I saw a clip of Neil Young playing a song and noticed on the side of his guitar was possibly his set list.

Is this a common thing for acoustic guitar band leaders to do? It sounds like a great idea, I just don't wanna scratch my axe with taking the tape off...

I've seen some guys do it. I'm not particularly keen on putting tape on my guitar then taking it off after every gig, so I just print them out with a large font and they stay on the floor near my microphone stand/effects.

That's what I figure. Printing out 2-4 copies of the set list with large font and spreading it over the stage.

^^^ Yep, generally each band member has their own setlist. If one bandmember takes responsibility for printing out setlists for everyone it will make life easier.

Our drummer prints out copies, and they go on the grill of our monitors held on with a couple magnets so they won't blow away... been doing it that way for years..

I'm with you guys... I don't want to tape anything to my guitar.. not even on the back...

I've got a few several cheap & nasty guitars I'd be ok doing it to....but not my baby ( epiphone dove) .

Thanks for the tip about magnets!
