What Fender Pawn Shop basses would you like to see?

Recently Fender have been pulling their finger out and exploring new (and old) territory, finally breaking away from the same ol', same ol'. Undisputedly, this is because of the most excellent thread that I made the other day.

But yeah, what would like Fender to try next in their Pawn Shop series? (Before they inevitably discontinue it and go back to Ps and Js.)

Personally, I'd like to see some more fretless models or extended range basses, like a maple fingerboard fretless Precision and a non-signature six string Jazz.

Fender should definetly try harder on the extended range basses... At least, that's what i would like. Also, some crazier woods or something like that.

The mustang already has me salivating. I'd like to just see more old custom colors, and a bass V reissue even though it would never sell

More frets. Seriously, I'd like a nice 24 fret bass from Fender.

And yes, that Mustang is sweet.

Something small. Full scale, but smaller body shape and headstock. Something akin to the Warmoth Dinky Jazz basses. Also something with 70's pickup spacing that doesn't cost just shy of £2k.

I want something with a piezo pickup like the Pwer Jazz, a hollowbody like the Starcaster or Coronado and everything, repeat, EVERYTHING available in surf green and daphne blue.

And burgundy mist metallic, shoreline/firemist gold, seafoam green, sonic blue, shell pink, fiesta red, lake placid blue, sherwood green metallic, inca silver, morraco red, monaco yellow, capri orange, maui blue, and montego black. A new Coronado would be pretty sweet too.

I really don't think things like 24 frets, 6 strings, and exotic woods will show up in the Pawn Shop series. The whole spirit of it is to embrace funky combinations that could have been way back when, to be like old basses you'd find modded and hanging in a pawn shop back in the 70's or something.

Hmmmmm...

Fender Jazz, slightly modified, all plastic strat/jazz scratchplate, dual humbuckers, D-tuner, Stellartone tone pot, toggle switch for each pup, chambered body, 24 fret, ebony board, gotoh bridge, dunlop 6180 brass fretwire, brass nut. In shoreline gold.

So basically, the Roscoe Beck sig but better. It's been 3 years, Fender. 3 years since you cut one of the 4 best instruments you EVER made. Sort it ahhhhht.

The Fender Oar basses were both master built models. And Tye has them both. Asides from TM Stevens, I don't think anyone has ever been so maniacally ecstatic to play bass.

MOAR PAISLEY!!!

More than '51s though. An ash tele bass in pink paisley with a sweet spot pickup in addition to the neck, clear pickguard, maple board, matching headstock, BA bridge, and a brass nut...

...with a Kahler trem option.

I met the guy, I played his £12k bass. He has so much charisma and talent it's a wonder he doesn't explode.

I'd love to see a hollow-bodied '51 P or something with a tremolo

More shorties, and not just Mustangs, although I want them all, but a short scale P and Jazz basses would rock. More color options. More wood options and +1,000,000,000,000,000,000 to the Paisley.

There's a Pawn Shop Bass VI:

I'm wanting a Bass V, just for funsies:

Haven't heard anything about a Bass V. They're not a particularly practical bass.

Same, they did a 24 fret jazz as a limited run a while back?

And that's been basically it...

Really cool to see them doing a bass VI again, always wanted one. Maybe I can afford one in the future. Hopefully they'll do an American made one at some point.

There was the Jazz 24 and Stu Hamm Urge II. And both are now discontinued.

Yup, nothing really modern will come out of the Pawn Shop line. The Pawn Shop line is made up of guitars and basses that are combinations of existing Fender guitars and basses. They're also not going to make anything that's outside of the Fender character.
