Actually, I don't really listen to ACDC, I just play it.

If you want to go analog, you would have to get a seperate boost, eq noise supresser, compressor. But I think that your best option is a high end modeler like AXE FX II, extremely versatility and great sounding (Steve Vai uses it) where you set it up at hoeme and use foot controllers/

Thanks for the answers guys.

I'm pretty confused because prices for modelers vary a lot from one to another brand or reference I've been adviced to get any of these modelers:

- Axe FX (I don't know if is the same as Axe II?)
- Line 6 Pod HD 500
- Digitech RP1000
- Digitech gsp 1101

To be honest I haven't heard any of those Amp modelers, I'll try to go to a local store (there are few) maybe I can find some of these, but I'm sure won't find all of them. So can someone tell me pros and cons of each of these? I'm looking only for different type of gain for the genres I play, and some effects for solos, I'm not looking for crazy stuff.

Atm I've 2500 USD to spend in a new guitar and some pedals. Why not an amp? well, since I live in Colombia, importing a good amp would be hell expensive, and I'm buying all this stuff for touring with my band, so I'll be always playing in 3rd party amps. So, lets get started.

I'm into Death metal, Technical Death, Progressive death, Metalcore, Deathcore and some Djent. I've been thinking about buying a Hellraiser C1 FR extreme or a Backjack SLS C-1 FR as when I make some research that's what I find as "the best" for metal, but I wanted to know what's your opinion cause some people have gave me advices of buying a Carvin but tbh I don't know anything about these gutiars.

What effects do I need? Well to be honest in this 11 years playing electric guitar I never took care of this kind of stuff so I need some support here. I need something to get distortions alike to bands like "The faceless", "Dying fetus", "The red chord", "Cattle decapitation", just need something that give me a sound of the genres I play. What else I need? analog EQ? uhmm delay, chorus, reverb for solos? (I'm totally new at this so, believe me I don't know what I'm talking about).

This is what I've been thinking to get:
-Hardwire RV-7 Stereo Reverb Pedal
-Hardwire DL-8 Stereo Delay Looper Pedal
-Decimator ISP Technologies Noise Reduction
-Maxon OD808
-Fulltone OCD
I still have doubts regarding the Guitar, and have also doubts if the gain I get with the maxon and fulltone would be enough (maybe enough for metalcore, but enough for death metal? 'I've a metalcore band and a technical death metal band)
Hope to get some help with this guys, thank you in advance!

Hi, Welcome to the Ultimate Guitar Forum.
Your pedals are good for medium priced effects.
Good quality. Good bang for the buck.

Hardwire pedals are awesome ~ I have:
* DigiTech Hardwire CM-2 Overdrive Pedal
* DigiTech Hardwire DL-8 Echo/Slapback/Delay
* DigiTech Multi Chorus
* Digitech Grunge Distortion

I like ISP Technology products. I have their "Totally Blues OD".
Good stuff. ISP is known for good noise suppression/reduction, as well.

I'd add an Up-Octave or Down-Octave pedal for the Metal music (or both).
Also, a seven-band EQ with a "level" control, will help your cause.

Good luck. Toppscore

1. Guitar: So aren't the Schecters reliable because of bad rap, and some electronic stuff problems? In that case I'd go for an ESP or an Ibanez. I have a question, when do you know when is FR needed? I've never used one, so I think I wouldn't go for a FR model. regarding scale yeah 25 would be good, U or C neck type, metal pickups (I guess something like Active EMG?), regarding shape I like normal body types like fender or gibson. But I don't care so much of aesthetics, I focus 99% on the sound.
Looking forward to your answers and opinions,

Shecter makes great low-end ~ medium-end guitars. I just purchased:
Shecter Damien-5, Diamond Series Five String Bass with attitude.
Have some pictures within my UG photos. Check it out.

Studied Schecters for a long time and found they are
decent low/mid level USA and Korean made guitars.
Many Schecter guitars have final assembly in California.

Axe FX is the defining modeler unit, best one on the market, but the pod is a good deal cheaper if you would rather get a really nice guitar with your budget
