Ballad of C#m

I really have no idea what genre you'd classify this as, but I wrote this little ditty in C#m. Hope you enjoy, and as always, C4C.

The guitar tracks sound like they are in different keys on the intro.

hey man

thanks for your crit

ok here goes

feels like it started hallfway through a intro.
very strange verse afterwards , cinda like it but the drums suck horribly here , and that goes for the whole pies unfortunately , and it really breaks the song

part 57 and on is pretty cool , but felt cinda out of place to have a break allready at this point.

maybe u can repeat the verse/chorus first or have a bridge.

part 72 and on was ok for a bit , but got annoying real fast

all in all i can say that you have to work on your song structure i think , and come up with interesting melodies and rhytms to change things a bit.

6.5/10

bar 25 and on is pretty ok

It could be the usage of power chords on the bottom track underlying a minor lead, but it's all C#.

I intended the intro to be very abrupt - it will actually make a little more sense with vocals, but I see where you're coming from on this. In regards to the drums - unfortunately I've no skill whatsoever with writing drums, so I just somewhat attempt to get a rhythm and hope that should it ever be recorded I'll find a drummer who will do it his own way.

I feel like I could rework the section at 72 to make it a bit more interesting, but that's another thing that's meant to be heard under vocals.

Thanks for the crits.

I dont get the point of restricting a peice to a particular key. Makes everything monotone and limited. Kinda shows through on this track, the riffs are wierd and oddly structured but not in the good way, the drums are well, refer to the other guys comments on them.

I keep wanting to come back to the riffs. Not only do they look like they're humanly unplayable, but they're also too odd sounding and out of place to work in song. Sorreh

well, the main idea it is not bad for all, even it is weird,in my opinion, but i enjoyed it. i think you could do some parts better. you could try to use some polyrhytms or you could do some polyphonic parts, to make this song more powerful.

anyway,i enjoyed the main idea. 7/10

I never understand why people write like this, in the key of C# but have their guitar in Drop C.
You're not being clever, you've just written it in the wrong tuning essentially, you haven't even used the low C at any point. Transpose it for Drop C# and it becomes a lot more playable too.
