as far as the price thing goes, i have never spent more than a grand on anything. i have played a few Gibson LP Customs, but the Gibson LP studio i have i paid $400 another for ~$500, a MIM strat trade for a Gibson Gothic V (straight up), etc. two Splawns, a Sig:X and a MKIV. none of it is the best out there, but i like it and i like having a variety of stuff around.
as far as the playing goes the guy in the top video was pretty damn good. IMO better than the second. most people always think shredders are better, but putting the right blues riff at the right time isn't easy either.
