Inspiring. I'll have to buy another iron. Mine is missing.

I've been wanting to modify the pot layout anyways.

I just started a job where I solder tiny things on circuit boards so my soldering is about to get a hell of a lot better its easy and very worthwhile. sure beats giving a music store money to do it every time your guitar starts cutting out. and you can try out different wiring options in your guitars whenever the urge to do so strikes.

Wanting to ditch the tone pot and move the volume pot to its place instead. Further away from the bridge.

So single volume no tone? And you'd keep the other pot there as a dummy or would you have a hole in the pickguard?

Yup. 1 pickup, single volume, no tone. There would be a hole in the pickguard. You can buy plastic circular tabs at hardware stores that you can put in it.

I considered removing the tone from my RG and leaving the other pot there for aesthetics. But now with the rebuild I'm going 2 vol 1 tone.
