Good, sturdy bass strap?
Hey guys. I have this guitar strap but the ends where you attach it to the bass is starting to rip. So I was wondering what good, yet cheap (less than $10) straps there are that reach ~60inches (I'm a big dude) and the ends are sturdy so they don't rip/tear.
Thanks.

spend the $20 and get a slick strap from www.guitarfettish.com they are leather which is much better than the cheap nylon ones. And they are xtra long.

+1 for slick straps. you'll never find anything good for under $10, and you'll never find anything better than slick straps for under $60
Robb misspelled the url, by the way. it's http://www.guitarfetish.com/ his link takes you to a parked domain

curious, whats the difference between a bass strap and a guitar strap? Because if theyre the same look into levys. I have a jimi hendrix one for the guitar i got for 12 bucks that i prefer to my 60 dollar planet waves one.

Pretty much any strap with leather ends + decent straplocks = win. I've one by Soldier I got off eBay and it's absolutely fine. Been gigged a lot.

bass straps tend to be a good bit wider. a guitar strap will work for bass, but a bass strap will properly support the increased mass from the bass

Strictly speaking they're the same thing. But bassists tend to prefer wider straps because basses (tend to) weigh more than guitars.

This place sells some nice ones - http://hypnoticstraps.com/ - but not under $10
You could always fit some straplocks to your existing strap to stop it ripping anymore |

If you want something strong and out of the ordinary, you must be willing to pay more than $10.00 for it. Spring for some more money and look at the offerings from Levy's Leather. Personally, I prefer the Planet Waves padded wide straps, but I don't know how well they work for someone who is on the tall side.

Elasticated straps are brilliant for appearing to reduce the weight of a Bass especially 5 stringers.
I bought mine well over 20 years ago and people are amazed how much lighter they make a bass feel. Several companies make them if you Google.

Not sure if anyone cares, but I bought this strap and it was like $11. It's actually pretty sturdy and it's alright comfortable-wise.
