On another note, anyone know of a pedal like this? I currently rock a Big Muff Pi w/Tone Wicker as my main distortion. I use it with the Tone off and the Wicker on, and usually the Sustain set quite low, so about as far from the standard BMP sound as you can get from that box. But it's ridiculous that I own (and have owned) several boutique dirt pedals and end up back at the £45 Big Muff so I'm after a something a little more... bespoke. GAS is a terrible thing. Is there a nice boutique Muff-style pedal either with the switch to cut out the tone circuit, or without the tone circuit at all?

You could just get a regular big muff and mod the tone circuit yourself. It's pretty standard.

Korey, finally read all of that wall of text blog you posted. Sounds like a blast. I need to go to a festival.

Tombe, I used to run a BMP w/ Tone Wicker too. I've got a Musket and a Pharaoh on my board now. Different beasts, similar, but different. And tasty.

Jelly. Really want a pharaoh for lower gain tones. Musket is just balls to the wall most of the time for me.

That's exactly what I use each pedal for. Pharaoh for low gain on the Ge setting and Musket well...yea.

Not why I got it, but it's what I use it for most of the time.

Have you played a pharaoh? I haven't tried one personally, but they seem to sound really sweet for low gain

The Big Muff really grew on me when I started using it at lower gains with the Tone switched off - the standard Muff sound IMO is too muddy and undefined when playing rhythm in a band setting. But ease it off a bit and take that awful tone circuit out of the equation and you get an absolutely huge sound.

Enjoy occasionally controversial ramblings related to guitars? I have a blog which meets these criteria.

I just ordered a brass pork pie snare off of GC used. Can't wait for it to get here so I can throw my first act snare out the window.

Wat

Guitars are for newbz.

Edit: why is it that every time someone says they don't use effects, they always go.....EXCEPT a wah. Like, if I could only use one effect, why would I choose the most annoying one ever made?
