trace elliot identification

So I've been on the hunt to get a legitimate bass head for my jbl cab (replace the shoddy peavey pa I've been using) and I've decided to go pick this up monday for $150, I know its a trace elliot GP-7 series but thats it. The guy believes it to be 250 watts, but isn't sure past 50% certainty haha. heres a picture of the actual one I'm getting monday:

heres a picture I found just searching Trace Elliot GP7 of what appears to be the EXACT same amp, going off specific faceplate etc. but sadly the pictures poster never specified the type
(its the top one):

so any help on the exact make and model? Also is $150 a good deal and is this a quality amp for a guitarist thats beginning a budget bass rig?

I mean TE's have always been a little too gainy for my taste...
I'm sure it'll be fine though. I'd say it's a GP7, for whatever reason the red/green knobs are switched though

My old teacher used to complain about TE's though. Apparently if they're sitting on a cab, the rumbling of the cab causes some wirings to come loose after extended use.
He suggested putting a piece of foam mattress cut out to cover the bottom and absorb some of the rumblings. I've used it with every head ever since.

Yeah I actually am looking for that gainy sound, I'm probably going to get some kind of fuzz and overdrive effects to go with it at some point, but I know I like the sound I'm just trying to find the exact model/wattage.

On another hand anybody have any good, on the cheap side suggestions for a good cab? For now I'm using a jbl 4628b cab but that isn't mine. I'm thinking an Eden or Trace elliot 1x15 or 2x10 bought used from craigslist. any other ideas for a good cabinet that would complement this thing well that I could find used on craigslist?

Good little amp although the graphics aren't as versatile as the 12 band series.
