My sister got two A's and an A*. My cousin got three A*s.

I did mine a few years ago and got a B and two Cs, and I just finished uni with a 2:2. I'm so glad I went through education first . There was no matching their standards.

It sucks when parents hold their kids to the same standards. Really unfair to the kids that are less gifted in their ability to study.

I got (AS) A Distinction* in Law that I'm very happy with, a B in Religious Studies that I'm happy with and a B in English Lang & Lit that I'm disappointed with since I absolutely smashed ELLA1 with 90% but only got 62% on ELLA2.

Overall I'm happy but there's definitely some room for improvement next year. I'm definitely going to re-sit ELLA2.

It's funny; when I applied to college they wouldn't allow me to do just English Lit, which would have suited me better, because apparently I wasn't good enough at it. I then went and smashed the literature part of the combined course whilst doing averagely on the language part.

I got two C's in English Lit and History after doing my AS and A2 in one year. Pretty annoyed, thought I had a good understanding of both subjects and think that a C grade shows inadequacy.

I knew that I wasn't going to be going to uni this year, but I'm now deliberating whether or not to continue my education at all.

Boy do I know that feeling. Were yours exam based? I always find that coursework better reflects my ability than one-off performances under pressure in exams.

Do you have an alternative plan?

My results point out that I suck hard at exams because:

I got an overall A in Art/Graphics which is a coursework based course and even though I can't even hold a pencil I got an A.

In Media and Film I got A's for coursework but in the exams I got a C and E bringing the grades down to B and C

My plan was to get a job this year and finish off another a level (I have an A in AS Religion) then apply to uni. Now my option is the same just bundled with resits. I'm 21 so I really have to consider whether or not it's worth it in the long run.

The AS part of English Lit had a couple of coursework pieces. I got an A and one of the best results in the class so I must be the same. Since this year was the first year that January examinations weren't an option I had to sit all my AS and A level exams in the summer, and boy was that tough. I suppose the grades aren't that bad considering I've never attempted these subjects at this level before, but still pretty bad.

Congrats on those results man, I'm pretty sure you're in a similar situation to me so you should be well proud Absolute joke that they didn't allow you to take the full Literature course. They were apprehensive about me doing it as well, and even though I performed badly I thoroughly enjoyed it.

It's stupid that they've changed when exams can be taken; it seems like a pointless change that only causes congestion. Kudos to you doing all those exams in one year, that takes a shit load of effort. I'm fortunate enough that I had enough savings for two years of college and that my parents are in a position where they're both able and willing to support me through it.

I thought it was stupid at the time that they didn't let me take the full literature course so I vowed to prove them comprehensively wrong. I feel I've done that to an extent.

Just confirmed my room with a 300 deposit. Already skint

Gonna cost 4.6k for the year, luckily the cost of living at Bangor is one of the lowest though.

Mine don't start for another week. Usually they would start this week, but my school decided to start later this year.
