Spldering a guitar from scratch?

Hi! Is there any videos/tutorials on the net, showing how to solder a guitar from scratch? For example a les paul style guitar. I want to be abe to fix and switch pickups in my own guitars. A wiering diagram is often complex an not in detail. I want to know everything like soldering techniuqes, how to ground the guitar and how to connect it to the pickup switch. Also where can i buy braided wire and normal wire for guitar electronics (not a whole rool, just some inches.

Are the diagrams complex, or are they not in detail? Or do you just not know how to read one?

If you can solder and read a diagram you can wire a guitar from scratch. There are plenty of resources that will help you do both of those things - fewer that will hold your hand through that entire learning process. Take your time and learn both and you won't have any trouble doing a good job with a combination of the two. Neither part is difficult.

Wire isn't that expensive, you usually just buy a whole roll.

Well often the pickup selector is not in the diagram, and it dosnt explain how tou connect the ground points.

If the pickup selector is in the diagram then you get a different diagram or learn how a switch works. That's the whole reason that there aren't many tutorials about how to do all this stuff from start to finish - it's not a paint-by-numbers sort of ordeal. You need a few different areas of skill and understanding.

If you know how to solder well, you know how to connect the ground points properly. There are guides for that. You can also look up wiring diagrams on the Seymour Duncan site that have every connection well explained and detailed. These aren't even circuit diagrams; they're pictures of what to solder where, very easy to use.

Sorry if I sound rude or unhelpful - you're asking for a fish and I want to teach you how to fish. It's probably frustrating but I think it's the right way to go about this. If you understand these concepts, you won't have to come back and ask for more help when a wire comes loose or a pot gets dirty. If we just give you an easy one size fits all answer, you'll never be able to help yourself - never mind that such an answer doesn't really exist.
