Tsk tsk tsk, just when I was starting to like you.

also, any opinions on Audi's reliability? Particularly second gen S3, but anything works, really.

pfft, you still like me, my personal car is a manual and I wouldn't have it any other way

and older audis reportedly had some electrical troubles, new ones are pretty bullet proof. I'm constantly hearing reports that audi has been having reliability issues lately, but in my immediate family there is at least one person who owns a q5, q7, a7, s4, a4, or an a5 (I owned the a5, and it wasn't for very long, but that was a horsepower problem, not a reliability problem. it was excellent in every sense of the word), and every single one of them has been absolutely rock solid. the ONLY issue is that if/when something does go wrong, parts are very expensive. that S4 had an issue where something hit the underside of the car and damaged something (forget what exactly it was, an uncle owned it). it was a very small part, but to get it repaired cost about $1100.

edit:

time for some modern german porn

dos asses though....

I used to like the A5, but they seem to be driven by dickheads and they are all 2.0TDi's. (sorry shiny).

911 is the best ass out of those. I got my bonus today. Don't know if it will be going on a car or not yet.

The A3 is basically a Golf in fancy clothes, and the S3 is no different--essentially a mkV Golf with more power, features, and AWD. So it will see the same basic problems, although because it got the TSI engine after the GTI did, it's not as easy to find more reliable S3's (though they are rare to begin with lol). The TSI eliminates the infamous cam follower issue the FSI became known for, too, but S3s with the TSI engine are harder to find and still cost a fair bit. Thought about buying one before i had my Civic Si, but maintenance would've just been too much.

Great cars though if you have the means. The older ones do follow the classic VW reputation of having bulletproof drivetrains but some nasty electronics gremlins.

they ARE all driven by dickheads. the 2.0 is a great engine, provided the car isn't as mammothly heavy as the A5. That car NEEDS the 3.0 v6. a 2.0 4 banger is ridiculous for a car of that caliber.

after having owned the A5 for about a month and a half, I determined its a secretary car. The only people who should be driving it are trophy wives with rich husbands. if you care about driving in any way, the S5 is the only way to go. in my mind, the S5 is what the A5 should be from its most basic form. its not like the A5 is cheap in any way, it should be equipped mechanically to match its price point.

^ Turbo larger than the actual engine, that's how mad rotary engines are.

Got to love all the hate thrown at you simply because you own a BMW Xiaoxi .

And how is LT sending a mixed message ? It's underpowered, so only trophy wives who only care about the car's appearance and brand prestige will keep, and drive an A5 for more that a month and a half.

A run to Advanced Auto/Autozone tomorrow to get Meguier's clay and wax and then I'm detailing her.

Pictures to come. Unless I get lazy.

Looking forward to that. I really like the detailing aspect of cars.

it was a brilliant car, no denying that. it just had no balls, that's why its a secretary car. there's no reason to own an A5 over an S5. the A4 can provide everything the A5 does at a much lower price. the S5 doesn't cost too much more than a mid level A5, but has the balls to back up the looks.

I'll take a 3 series. Costs less, looks better (IMO), and has a manual.
