Wow, somebody was influenced by Roger Dean, that could be a 70s prog album cover. I like how they went for a realistic scale for everything.

As far as I'm concerned, it's just one more reason to get a PS4. I mean, FFV, Persona 5, SFV, Tekken 7 (although not exclusive), Mortal Kombat X(again not exclusive), Guilty Gear: Xrd, and I'm sure there will be another Tales game coming that will looking ridiculously good.

oh yeah and Bloodborne (f u iron maid).

Word. This looks like the most promising and innovative in terms of Final Fantasy games yet. Hack n Slash final fantasy is what I was waiting for. I already enjoy the universe(s) that the games are set in in terms of monster and environment design. The main characters look like Final Fantasy characters as well, but that's not a good or bad thing.

I will say they nailed the open world look with that demo and I really hope the rest of the game is somewhat similar to that.

My favourite part of FFXIII was the open world bit near the end, so I'm pretty psyched for this game.

For me, the pinnacle of FF battle systems was XIII's battle system. More fast paced and frantic than your typical turn-based system and pseudo-real time. Also the paradigm shifting is just a beautiful mechanism. Full real-time hack'n slash games don't always make the combat as dramatic and cinematic as games with turn-based or pseudo-real time like XIII. But it looks like they've overcome that with XV.

I agree that XIII's open world bit totally impressed on my first play-through. On XV I like how everything is fukking huge. Definitely buying the FFXV ps4 game bundle when it comes out (you know there will be one)

That'd be rad, but sadly much like the metal world, the collector's world has been tainted by scalpers. So unless you get in super early you won't get one. I hope it's just a bundle though, but I'd like to see a PS4 with unnecessary frills and leather straps.

Within the next few months it is a guaranteed purchase for Bloodborne.

I thought it was going to be dead forever, but the guy did say he would be back in all fairness.

The Corroseum is a pretty neat read. I've been looking back into the older pages. Better discussions than NWN so that's nice.

Any of you dudes know what kind of effects, EQing, stuff I add after the recording in the DAW, etc. to get a tone like Quorthon's during the Viking era stuff? Specifically the Nordland albums.

I want to get a tone similar as a base, and then tweak and change it so it is my own. I figure that would be a good starting point.

You'll want at least two tracks of guitars panned about the place, probably more; doesn't sound like there's much in terms of effects, probably just some reverb, compression and maybe a sprinkling of delay. As far as EQ'ing, it sounds like there's a lot of bass guitar coming through so maybe cut the lows a bit but I think it really comes down to the layering, just do multiple takes with slightly different tones (or run the one take through a few different amps/pedals) or if you're lazy you could use a very short delay on one stereo channel to get that widescreen sound. How good it sounds will really be down to the quality of amp/distortion pedals that you're using.

I don't even like Mortal Kombat. I want to play this game and decimate people.

I'm sure this will be rivaled during your "experimental" phase in college, homes.
