Glenfiddich 12 yr will run you somewhere between $40-$50 USD, it's my "daily" and goes down smoother than Glenlivet (in my opinion).

^that sounds pretty good, I have to try some.

I'd also recommend Four Roses for bourbon if you're looking for under $30 USD. It's pretty good "cheap" bourbon.

Got a bottle of Haig Dimple. Very nice. Light as before but not feather-aerogel level like Club. Worth getting.

Also tried Buffalo Trace at a local bar, which is a good bourbon. Sharp but enjoyable. Had a couple in the end.

I've heard Elijah Craig is good for it's price point, anyone in here try it before?

yeah it's nice. I tend to lean to four roses small barrel at that price (similar cost over here) as I tried them both against each other at the store once. will probably buy it next time I'm buying whisky as I got the four roses last time.

Can't even afford normal stuff so it's back to Evan Williams white label. Though to be fair they could sell this for $20 or $25 and it would be worth it.

Evan Williams is a good cheap bourbon. That being said, it's still a cheap bourbon, and it tastes like it. I heard really good things about the Evan Williams Single Barrel, which is a bit more pricey, but not much. It's a bit of a disappointment to me. It has a strange tart taste in the finish which spoils it for me every time.

Anyone else have any experience with this Ralfy recommended bourbon?

That's something I like about bourbon, there isn't really any bad bourbon, only better bourbon. Though that's probably because there's only like four distilleries that even produce it.

Oh no, you're mistaken. There is indeed bad bourbon.

But I do think that it is easy to find a good quality for the price verses other spirits. I've had cheap 15 dollar bottles before that have been good enough, and at that price who can ask for more?

the cool thing about it is each one is named after a distillery that went under years ago (mostly during Prohibition from the ones i've had) and they try to recreate how it would have tasted.

Four Roses. i'll look for it next time i'm at the liquor store.

I was at the liquor store and was trying to decide between a good rum or if I should take another crack at some scotch. Due to the over abundance of shitty rum and the lack of good rum, I decided to try scotch again. I got Black Label this time, so hopefully it's better than that Red Label crap (I don't even know much about scotch, but the Red Label was disgusting.).

Added bonus: The Black Label came with some whiskey stones. Got some new tumbler glasses as well

$50 it cost me. The Gold Label was like $75, and the Platinum Label was $160. Crazy expensive, must be good shit!

Are you talking about Johnnie Walker? I've had some before which was one of the high shelf offerings, I believe, and it was pretty nice, if you like raisins. Wouldn't go for the red label, though.

My favourite. It's been a while since I had a bottle though, I need to get another.

I've just been to visit a friend this weekend and took a bottle of Talisker Storm with me. We got through about half of it. It's great stuff.

I've got a couple of bottles on the verge of finishing and I don't like the idea of the collection shrinking, so I should buy more whisky. But on the other hand, I also want more cognac and some armagnac.
