blackout modular preamp with single conductor pickups

So I got a new bfg, love it, wanted more gain with the pickups but I want to keep the look of the stock ones. So I grabbed a blackout modular preamp. Thought it was awesome then I found out I need 4 conductor pickups.

I have everything wired according to this diagram. Only I put grounds in the outside ports and hot one place in. (Hope that makes sense)

Google hasn't helped much other than to tell me it's possible somehow. I'm hoping you guys might be able to tell me what I'm supposed to be doing here. Thanks!
*insert witty statement here*
