Went to Home Depot and bought some $1.50 screws with a special head on them that work perfectly for piggybacking my bassman to my 2x12. Sure beats paying $25 for the Fender set.

Now I just need a new fender logo badge and some tilt back legs and I can enjoy my rig in all its vintagey glory.

Quoting just so we can have this picture twice on one page.

I need this in my life so bad. Now that the blackface Bassman is gone, making my silverface Bassman complete is going to happen for sure. Never selling this one. EVER.

Modded that American Special Telecaster that I scored on the cheap a while back. Gave it a set of Tonerider Pickups and a white pickguard as well as new strings while I was at it. Not feeling it heaps yet. Like, its not bad, its just not begging to be played like my blue one does. Will give it a little time, but it may go back to stock for the flip depending on what happens. More money for the bank.

For the Tele guys in the thread, the Toneriders aren't as nice as the Fender CS 51 Nocasters. They aren't at all horrible, the bridge is maybe a bit ice-picky, neck is ok. Overall, I think you kinda get what you pay for on this occasion

One of the guitar shops in Brighton has a pretty cool-looking Modern Player Tele (the 3-pickup one) for 200, because it's damaged stock, the 'damage' being a big dent on the side near the jack plate. I'm so tempted but since two of my five guitars are Teles I'm not convinced I need another one...

Enjoy occasionally controversial ramblings related to guitars? I have a blog which meets these criteria.

There are never enough Teles. I need to replace my old one.

I'm actually thinking of picking up another guitar in September as a birthday gift to myself, and my guitar tech offered to actually put together whatever I'm looking for; dude does amazing work so I don't see why not. I'm really finding myself preferring 24.75 scale necks the past year or so(my left hand has been acting up and they're a lot more comfortable), so I'm trying to decide if I should go with a Les Paul, SG, or Flying V. What do you guys think?

I'm not really a Gibson guy, but I've always had a soft spot for the old style Les Paul goldtops. Cream P90s and trapeze tailpiece. I vote one of those, so i can live vicariously though you

They are quite pretty. Not sure how I feel about the trapeze. But the P90s might happen.

Earl Sweatshirt was ****ing 10/10. 500+ smashed into a bar meant for maybe 300. 2nd best gig I've ever seen. Energy was unbelievable.

Jealous, since he got sick and missed Bonnaroo in 2013 I've missed every chance I've had to see him since.

Also, hey look, it's John

Brendan that thing is ****ed. Wow. Also you should use that fancy new interface of yours to make clips

Guys, I sold the first nice guitar I got as a teenager and I'm using to put together a dedicated ambient rig. I got a Ditto x2 earlier this week and I have another El Cap the way to replace the one I sold.

The signal chain is going to be something like this...

Tuner
Bitquest (mostly as reverb but sometimes as a fuzz/noisemaker)
PDS 20/20 (for stuttery drones, oscillations, modulated noises)
Volume Pedal
MF-104M
Space
El Cap
SS/BS Mini (for signal fattening/analogizing/tape-y saturated goodness)
Ditto X2

I have this giant enclosure laying around and I want to design a mixer for my guitar, violin, microkorg, and a cassette player. I might include some oscillators or the like. I'm also trying to figure out how I can use effects on samples in real time while still playing them, so I think I'm going to include a mixer at the output to add in the dry signal. I might do more with parallel signal paths though. For example, the bitquest can be a dedicated sample mangler. But this whole thing seems like it could be a routing/phase nightmare. Gotta take it slow.
