Well I could get a guitar for around 300 now. Or I'd have to wait to get a guitar for around 500 or so.

So I'd say around 300-500, maybe 600.

I want a maple fretboard, preferably one humbucker or more.

This is want I really want, but it's a bit expensive for me right now:

both japanese made, which normally means quality kit. I haven't tried them, but i've tried enough japanese-made guitars to assume that they're going to be good guitars.

Again, thanks for the suggestion, but not really my style :/

I think I'll just get the ESP LTD .. or save up for the Fender Blacktop. Most likely I'll order the ESP.

Not wanting to open another thread, so I'll just ask here and see if anyone notices.

If I want to change the pickups in the ESP, what are some good replacements?

Well you said you want to play rock.. id go with the dimaziro tone Zone T for the bridge. its hum canceling and will take to gain better then a traditional single.coil and its more bassand mids heavy to help balance out tele bridges that are usially to trebel-y

and a dimaziro air norton for the neck humbucker

I have an old 96 Squier protone Tele that came stock like that
I dod put a SC size HB in the bridge though. A modified SD JBJr (they dont make one for Tele's) and the guitar screams

Yeah.. I even saw Keith Richards play a Tele like that in a concert.

(Sorry for the big picture)
