Definitely the best this year so far, idk yet if I like it more than last year's Purity Ring album or last year's Between the Buried and Me album or good kid but it's probably better than anything else from last year.

due that Brave Bird album is really good. I'm glad I found it through Count Your Lucky Stars' free catalog download thing. I listened to the first few tracks on the The World Is... album and I didn't like it as much as I'd hoped to but I need to listen to it again.

Just finished listening to the new Baths album, Obsidian, and at first listen it was pretty good but not quite as good as Cerulean.

glad you like it!

re: twiabp - lots of people are hailing it as a modern classic, like the end of twinkly emo. i don't know if i agree but it's super good, definitely give it another chance if you have the time.

Yeah, I'm listening Whenever, If Ever again right now and I don't think I'd call it a modern classic but I'm liking it a lot more. I think I just didn't like it as much the first time because I'd already been listening to a ton of emo the last couple of days so I was kind of burnt out on the genre momentarily. I really like how they use synths sometimes too, that's really cool.

Also, the new Deafheaven song is so so good. I'm really excited for their new album.

Streamin' on Pitchfork, yo. But if you want to download it, their label (Deathwish Inc.) already has downloads up ($6), or you can preorder the CD ($8) or vinyl ($20) and get an instant download.

I was feeling this until the vocals kicked in. Maybe it'll grow on me if I try hard enough.

They're not for everyone, but you should definitely give the album another shot. Or you could just listen to the three instrumental tracks on there if you wanted.

I'm not in the mood for that type of music (@Sunbather) so I will probably spotify it or buy it at a later date. The song sounds good though.

To clarify I didn't dislike it, but most people here hate Rush so that's why I found it funny.

I didn't think it was that great though.

In 2012, only the Archive and Garbage albums were really good. We're in May and already this is better: Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Depeche Mode, Suede & Atom For Peace ones are better!
I'm still waiting the ones of Queens of the stone Age, Pet Shop Boys, Travis, Tarja, Franz Ferdinand, Placebo, Jay-Jay Johanson, The Vines, Hollywood Porn Stars, Limp Bizkit, Warmen (yes, it's varied). so yes, this year will be better!
