Try again, this time with a reasoned and even just somewhat intelligent response.


I'm not huge on him. I read one of his books a few years ago which was mildly enjoyable, and enjoy occasionally listening to him speak (his longer, uninterrupted talks were very enjoyable to me).

He didn't pussyfoot around his beliefs or views whatsoever, was very articulate and vocal about them with an enjoyable sharp rhetoric, was fairly witty, etc etc. There are some major stances he took that I disagree with, I don't like the types of people who tend to associate themselves with his work for the most part, and at times he could take his rhetoric a bit too far.

Regardless, I respect him and quite like him. He's the only one out of the babbys first atheist heroes that I like. I'd imagine the main offputting thing about him was his pompous asshole tendencies. As a fellow articulate pompous asshole, I don't really have too much in regards to his character to fault him with. That'd be throwing stones in a glass house. Cut from the same cloth I suppose.

I thought he was a great debater and all the religious folk that went against him didn't stand a chance. I will say though that he did come off as arrogant and pompous, so sometimes I'd feel a little eh about him.

Good man though.
