Eh, I've been using the previous non-subscription version. Better to actually own the product imo

nah, this trip was my first real go at doing any landscapes and locally I don't really have any point-and-win mountains to take photos of

having said that though I've definitely got a 10 stop ND on my radar but it might have to wait until after I get the light modifiers I want.

as for the subscription model, traditionally I would absolutely agree with you, but $9.99 a month for Lightroom AND Photoshop is just ridiculously good value. Realistically I think I'd only be better off buying Lightroom outright if I was still going to be happy using v5 two or three years down the track, which I'd say is 50/50 at best. Even then I still wouldn't get Photoshop, which is something I've used almost daily (cough cough...) for nearly 10 years, so all-in-all its just waaay too tempting. Plus I don't have any money down on any Adobe products either, so its not like I'm throwing away my copy of CS6 to get on board (which is worth a completely unjustifiable grand here in Australia).

Classic "if I can convince someone else I can convince myself" post

EDIT: this is the view out of a Cessna on the way to Milford Sound.

cool, on a related note I just ordered a light stand, flash holder head thing and reversible umbrella.

time to start getting serious...

Two shots, the one of my eyes, and a shot of a cracked up painting I did, with coco powder, dropped on a layer above and erased partly in PS, the possibilities are endless I suppose!
