DVD's for learning Jazz guitar
Hi,
I have been studying jazz a lot lately. It is going ok, but coming on a bit slow. Does any one have any DVD recommendations for learning jazz. Comping, Vamping, improvisation and standards. I have an HND in Guitar, so I have a good generally knowledge of theory, chords, and styles like rock, blues, funk etc. But we only touched on the beginnings of jazz, and I would like to expand further. Thanks.

Where did you get your HND?
I like Don Mock - Jazz Blues Rhythm Chops, you can find it in parts on youtube;

I don't know much Jazz, but on youtube there's:
Joe Pass solo Jazz guitar Joe Pass Jazz lines Joe Pass blue side of Jazz It helps, even from just hearing, but I learned most of these so, I can say. |

Yea the Joe Pass videos are absolutely essential and probably the best things to learn. He gets it. He explains harmony and melody in a very concise, clear manner that emphasizes on musicality. None of that worthless modes garbage that plague most "jazz" instruction videos.
It's no coincidence that the guy who has the simplest explanation is also the guy who is the top jazz guitarist in history.
