I'm a late bloomer for Hendrix, but that said, Voodoo Child is mind-blowing and I'm in that mood. I prefer to keep my Strat tuned a half-step down, so what're some other songs where he uses Eb tuning?

Hey, has anyone seen a clip of Jimi at a festival or something covering The Lemon Song? I saw it somewhere a long time ago, and I can't seem to find it anywhere. Anyone know what show it was, or have any idea of white I'm talking about?

Hey guys.
I just recently got into Hendrix' stuff through a friend of mine and I wondered: What would be the best albums to start with? Suggestions much appreciated. |

Just got through a thorough listening of Hendrix. Got to say that Band of Gypsys was one of the highlights. Only downside is the lack of Mitchell, He's a force to be reckoned with on Are You Experienced? |

i'd say get are you experienced first, its basically a greatest hits album all in itself, and then get either axis: bold as love or first rays of the new rising sun, or just get both since they're both amazing. but honestly, you can't go wrong with jimi hendrix, you can get any album you want and it'll be good

I pretty much downloaded his entire discography awhile back and I love to just chill and listen to him, especially his live jams. Sometimes I ask myself how I went this long without truly hearing the wonder that is Hendrix.

I consider Billy Cox to be the most underrated of the two simply, because he was more melodic, funky and Jimi's old Army jam buddy. They just clicked whereas Noel's bass playing was more scripted, simple, and guided. Noels bass playing skills, and songwriting were gifted but I don't feel Jimi felt he could improvise quite the same way he did with Billy. I site 2 examples, go from Axis: then jump ahead to Band of Gypsy's, they are WORLDS apart. Jimi's excellence was not defined on WHO he played with necessarily but WHEN......

Can any one recommend me a good documentary about Jimi Hendrix's life and works? with good footage of him and good interviews and stuff. If such a thing exists.
