No...well, that too, but I'm still talking about FiM Basically, Hasbro wanted to reboot MLP because Michael Bay rebooted Transformers, making Transformers popular toys for boys again. But Hasbro still had that whole demographic of girls that they needed to get, so they rebooted MLP to sell toys to them. Whether you like it or not is completely subjective of course, I'm just saying that's its entire existence relies on toy sales. Being produced by Hasbro, you can definitely count on it being cancelled if it wasn't selling those dolls. Which, probably only bronies buy (to put next to their flesh lights) Which is why Lauren Faust is on board. She was already trying to make a tv show and toyline for another project she was working on, but Hasbro told her to STFU and make them a shit ton of money with MLP instead.
