I don't really plan on using a mule on the PC, so you'll have to wait a bit for me to get two characters to SL150 or so, which is where I've been feeling the sweet spot for remaining competitive in PvP.

Oh man. It is fukking on! I declare a UG Metal Forum Souls Battle Royale.

I have been with From Software since Demons Souls, so you have that on me, but I have also logged a ridiculous amount of hours into Demons Souls and Dark Souls. I am also a PvP nerd of the highest caliber. Have I parried the moonlight greatsword's charge attack? Check. Have I won 3v1 spawn ganks? Double check. Do I use a shield? Fukk that. Shields are for pussies who can't parry with a rapier on the offhand and a katana in the right. However, I have been out of practice for months, but I will change that starting tonight.

I still have Dark Souls and Demons Souls on Ps3 if you want to PvP on playstation. I haven't started playing Dark Souls II on pc yet, so it will also take me awhile to get up to speed on the game. My brother owns Dark Souls II on playstation, so I may be able to borrow his copy and catch up to you on playstation if necessary.

Also, after listening to the new album for a second time. I like it. It's different, and the opening track is monolithic.

EDIT: SUPER IMPORTANT VG and to others who want Dark Souls II on PC.

If you want Dark Souls II on PC, you should but it on greenmangaming.com ASAP! There is a 25% off voucher that is good until tomorrow 4 p.m. UTC. Just go through the checkout process and enter the following voucher code when you see a field asking for it:

9HZ09L-D4RYEU-FIW8BE

Should come out to about $37.80 or something like that.

The Serpent & The Sphere is the first Agalloch release to fall flat on my ears. It does however make me really want to spin From Which of This Oak.

I'm sad to say I agree with you VG. I listened to the album multiple times hoping that I just needed to listen more to appreciate all of the subtitles; alas, this was not the case.

I'm really enjoying the new album and my enjoyment seems to only grow with each listen.

The opener has incredible restrained atmosphere. The following interlude is less effective, but man when The Astral Dialogue kicks in with the bass guitar that sounds like a mountain crumbling away... It's awesome.

I, for one, welcome The Serpent & the Sphere into Agalloch's oeuvre with open arms.

I'm going to keep giving it listening time. It is not offensive to my ears, it just hasn't taken hold of me.

I'm with Kep on this one. It's not without flaws, but I feel a lot of spirit behind it so I can forgive some composition problems. Probably helped by the fact that I binged on Twin Peaks for the last few weeks; for some reason A's music and TP go together really well for me

It recently struck me that much of Agalloch's career has been a reproduction of Ulver's Bergtatt.

I am enjoying most of the new album, it is by no means the best they have put out but I feel it is better than Marrow.
