Same here although the ones I've played felt alright but sounded hollow.

On the other hand Lulls have always felt like someone cared making the instrument and took their time checking the quality of every part of the bass imo.

It sounds as if there is some definite love for Mike Lull basses, but none for Sadowsky basses. Why is that?

The NYC bass I played recently just felt like another Jazz. Nothing special on the playability, the sound--its like why would I buy this versus a MIA Jazz?

Things are made better in the NW. Plus the Lull T birds are hawt.

But so many of the electric bass giants either are, or got their start in New York City!

And these look pretty cool, too:

I would just hate to see our forum infected by the "Bias Bug" that afflicts so many other forums; that's all!

I don't think we're going to have a problem with any kind of bias when it comes to boutique basses, everyone here is too down-to-earth. Some of the fanboyism you see elsewhere is just ludicrous.

The only bias I dread is when arguments crop up involving the dreaded "R" word.

Yup. We've all decided that Warwicks are just about as good as it gets.

Not only do I like Rickenbackers, I don't have any particular fondness for Warwicks. Why am I here??

TBH, the only Warwick I like is the StarBass.

I'm not the biggest fan of their designs but, in terms of craftsmanship and tone, I've never played anything better than a Warwick.

If Warwick could build me an Ibanez Muscian bass with Lull TBird pickups, that'd be swell.

I'm not pointing any fingers, and I don't like them any more then you do. I'm just saying Ricks are now what the T-bird was of yore.

As for Warwicks, I like them fretless. Blank planks only pls.
