Cleaning up clipping?

Short and sweet: Did some interviews of a local sports team for my campus radio station and newspaper. The interviews went well, but I was nervous, and ended up holding the mic both too close to my mouth and the player's. So, the audio's pretty distorted. Is there any way to clean it up in post so I can still get the clips to radio quality?

Well, you can actually do that. But it's still a turd.

You ever tried wiping a turd with a cloth?

You don't end up with a cleaner turd, just a dirtier cloth.
