thats actually less than i would have guessed for 8 hours a day.

mobile sites are becoming heavier and heavier in bandwidth requirements as well, as browsers are quite powerful now and meet the majority of standards, and internet speeds are getting faster, mobile sites are constantly using more data due to images, site complexity and javascript complexity

Constantly might have been a bad word, but I did an hourly facebook/twitter check and also browsed reddit throughout my lunch hour.

Video/YouTube is a big data eater so if you don't use them then you're cool.
I usually use just over 1gb of data a month, not too fused though since unlimited data was only £2 more a month and the next step up from 1gb.

Honestly, considering you can get on a wi-fi network pretty much anywhere, 3 GB is plenty. I don't think I've ever used over 1.5 GB

On gingerbread, when you have app updates, after you've finished installing them, is there anyway to get rid of the many icons in the notification bar without clicking on the icons and opening up every app?

I've never seen it

Ok found it, can't believe it took me this long I just never noticed it..

Anyway, another thing I'd like to know:

How come, whenever I use a theme on Pansi SMS, I can never see the writing on the pop up messages, it's weird. Now tweaks or anything, whenever I choose a theme, for the pop up all I see is a grey screenwhere there should be the message.

Hello, Android thread.

What's everyone's opinion on using Android phones as MP3 players? I love my Cyanogen Mod-equipped device, but I've always been hesitant to use it as my primary music device.

For one, I listen to quite a bit of music some days, so I don't want to completely drain my battery. Additionally, I'm always obsessed about tracking play counts, and since I was using iPods/iTunes before I started using Android, I don't want to abandon those play counts. I also like the interface of an iPod better than the stock music app, the Play Music app, and the Winamp app that I've tried.

Is this play count obsession unhealthy? Is anyone else obsessed like I am? I know this is a little bit off topic, but does anyone know a way to get over a play count obsession?

I don't know if there's anything out there that will track play counts. There probably is, but I don't know it by name.

For nice looking music apps, try Apollo and Now Playing.

Also if anyone feels like it convince me I should get a non-iPhone smartphone, because I'm pretty deadset on getting one.

Yeah, it is a bit weird. I'm not really sure why it matters to me, because it's not like I go around showing the information to anyone or anything.
