Guitarpartsonline.com Replacement Neck?
Hello recently ive split the neck on my jackson and am in need of a new neck. ive done all the measurements to make sure i get the right size but im wondering about the quality of this neck http://www.guitarpartsonline.com/pr...5a687641ec269c1
Is it a good enough replacement? Last edited by Iplayaguitar15 : 11-12-2012 at 08:33 PM. |

It should fit fine. Don't expect the same quality as your Jackson though.
These are cheap necks churned out of a overseas factory. Expect lower quality maple, flat sawn instead of quartersawn. And expect a few issues with the binding and fret dress. I have one on a flying v body I built a few years back. Pretty happy with it after a fret level and some fret end filing. The binding work on mine is a bit sloppy. But it was straight and true, and feels good in my hands. For the price I'd say they are okay. ![]() Last edited by Culler Amps : 11-12-2012 at 08:52 PM. |

from the picture you can see the quartersawn elements. I ordered a rosewood one and its pretty nice. The binding was tight and smooth but I would have you local Guitar Tech level the frets for you, that is the only issue I had with mine.

What problems would i have from unlevel frets? and the jackson neck im replacing is a low end one anyway. How thick is the neck?

Unlevel frets can cause a bit of buzz, maybe a dead spot here or there. I wouldn't go for a fret level off the bat though. Try it out first. It really depends on who was working in the factory that day and how good they are at their job. It may have exceptional fret work. I was just letting know the issues with my neck, and what you may expect. Doesn't mean yours will be the same though. As far as thickness goes its pretty close to my Schecter C-1 neck. A bit on the chunky side, but not too fat, feels good to me. |
