Question Rogue G10 10W amp

http://www.amazon.com/Rogue-G10-1x3..._pr_product_top

I'm a beginner to guitars, I'm just learning but my electric guitar (Fender Starcaster) sounds like an acoustic guitar only when I connect them to my PC speakers. I think I read that distortion and amp settings changes electric guitar noise so that it sounds more "metal."

That's what I'm aiming for, metal. Is this amp right for me? And yes, I'm on a tight budget.

Rogue amps were a low-ball brand sold by Guitar Center. You can do a hell of a lot better for the price, especially if you go used.

If metal is the genre you're aiming for, i suggest you look for an used Peavey Vypyr or Roland Cube.

+1

Peavey Vypyr is a great little practice amp that does metal extremely well.

Please avoid that amp you posted at all costs. You may as well plug your guitar into your own arse hole, it'd sound pretty similar.

Also, apologies, but I had to sig that sentence from your OP, too hilarious!

Does that look like a good amp? I'm willing to spend $100, that's not too much but it seems to have lots of features.

Thanks for the help by the way.

No problem, man.

Yes, that's exactly the one i was talking about. It's especially good for metal, but as you noticed it has lots of features and effects, so you can play pretty much any genre and still sound nice. It's a great amp for you to experiment different stuff.
