Woke up this mornin'

Why are Blues singers so miserable. They start every song with "woke up this morning" and then proceed to moan about everything that has gone wrong in their drug and alcohol fuelled lives. Well, I'm sorry but if you spend all your money on alcohol and drugs and wake up every morning having wet the bed, of course your woman gonna have gone left you. You should be thankfull you woke up in the morning at all. Lighten up and stop all that moaning if you want a steady girlfriend. Stop spending so much money on guitars and buy some deodorant.

Why are country singers so obsessed with their pickup trucks?

We'll never know, and so; like sands through the hourglass, so are the questions of our lives...

Oh, and the song started off with "well meet me at the bottom."

Meet me at the bottom sounds very suspicious. What kind of coded messages is he sending out. I don't think the bottom is the place you should visit first. He won't keep a girlfriend that way. Then he'll wake up the next morning and start moaning about his life. Improve your dating technique Mr Wolf and stay away from bottoms.

because nobody would listen to songs that go "woke up this mornin', everything was real alright. no conflict happened, day was pretty uneventful and nice" it would be garbage

So, don't worry 'bout it, buddy. You'll never have to feel the blues

It's true most good blues songs start with 'Woke up this mornin' except, of course, for the wonderful 'Didn't go to sleep last nite' blues.
