i just started guitar 4months ago and Ive been playing with a few songs but then recently stumbled on this vid in youtube and wanted to play the song ever since, but found out hes been using bar chords and im new to it. Im a bit confused to the bar chord hes using at this timestamp 1:20

idk why hes index finger is barring that way from the 2nd fret to the 3rd fret.

need help badly. Thank you.

Found another vid of this guy but different song. I was told its a b chord but im not so sure about it. Timestamp at 2:54

Shallow and pedantic.

To be honest it doesn't sound like that's actually what he's doing. I fret a chord that way and given the shape of his hand I don't hear it being that kind of chord at all.

I can't quite pick it out; don't have a guitar in standard tuning to hand. It sounds like a dominant chord though, I think. If you don't know what that means then go learn.

The chord she's playing is just a standard A form barre chord. Didn't take the time to look at the root it used but its definitely an A major form.

Well yeah he is fretting a A shape Barre at the second fret which is a B, but it sounds weird to me.
My ring finger doesn't bend in such a way so I play it with my pinky.

If the tuning is standard, that should be a C something, if you look at where his pointer finger is.

the tab for the first song says its a B chord in A form, but how does he play it exactly or what "fingering" if i might say.

same goes with this vid here. B chord in A form. IF the b is the root note, why is the tip of her
index finger on the 3rd fret? is the lower E muted too?

have you considered that it might not actually be a full "barre" and that she is just muting some strings, hard to tell from the angle for me....why not just look up the tabs for that song in particular and there ya go!

if the tab says it is a B chord, then there is your answer....something to keep in mind especially when watching videos of other people playing is that not everyone plays things the same way... and there are a lot of people who may not be playing "properly". not to say that this is the case with this particular situation, but if you have looked at the tabs (or actual sheet music if you can read it) and it says to play b chord, then that is what you should play......just my opinion, and you know what they say about those
