New A$AP Rocky is fire. One of the best hip hop albums this year so far

One of my faves, criminally underrated member of the Screwed Up Click. I heard it described as "hardest, rawest, most gangsta and I don't give a single **** out of [Houston]"

Speaking of Screwed Up Click, get a feel for this

If you want something west coast, though, prepare for some hard ****ing communist shit from Oakland - the Coup, maybe best known now for releasing an album with a picture of the World Trade Center blowing up on the cover. But they should be known for being so real, all the time.

New Dre album is meh.

EDIT: After a few listens I've changed my minds. Not blow my mind good, but still one of the better albums released recently. Kendrick and Eminem kinda steal the show a little

If you sleep on Mick Jenkins, you're missing out on greatness. Trees and Truths, The Waters, and now Waves. This man is gunning for the top.

Anyone else think that Kendrick's new album is wildly overrated?

Actually I think it's in the top 3 or so best records released in the last decade.

That might actually give your statement more credibility.

Still though. Fantastic album.

What other albums would you include in that?

I was hoping you wouldn't ask that.

Albums I'd place highly would be Rowland S. Howard's "Pop Crimes", probably "Stadium Arcadium" though I'm kinda ambivalent about that one, Janelle Monae's "The ArchAndroid", Nick Cave's "Dig!!! Lazarus Dig!!!", probably Amorphis' "Skyforger" but that's just off the top of my head and I've no idea what kind of list I'd come up with since I gave up trying to rank music years ago.

Yeah, ranking music can be pretty futile. That's an eclectic list though. A lot of people would agree with you on To Pimp a Butterfly. Guess it just didn't click with me.

I like the music and lyrics in Kendrick's new album, I just don't enjoy his rapping style at all most of the time.

Same I guess. Like I don't find the album particularly bad I just can't see how people think it's some sort of masterpiece.
