Minding my own business earlier, jus' taking some slow-shutter pictures of the stars as it was a fairly clear night...

And a fuckin' plane flies through the middle of my shot a second after I press the shutter..

I use Lightroom too

And yeah, I know what you mean. 18mp RAW files are fucking huge as well, which makes my ancient laptop run like a slug while it loads everything

Can't afford a Mac My desktop runs everything fine, but the PSU is still borked after a power surge.

Just checked and the RAW files from my camera are ~22mb.

Also:

Fuck planes!

Good lord, that could have been cool were it not for his sub-par shoop skills!

Those plane shots are actually really nice. Try doing more of them. They're interesting.

Either way that'll be piss easy to clone out.

Also we had an exhibition recently. I'll show some pictures when I get the chance.

Cheers dude

I have plenty of sans plane pictures, so I'm not too fussed about editing them out.

I look forward to seeing them

EDIT:

'A few sans plane' pictures:

show

My screen is so dirty I didn't know what was a star and what was dust.

Pentax K1000 in the mail. Got tired of my Canon Elan running out of batteries.

I had that problem a few days back.

I was looking at a Pentax K-3 a short while back, but it's out of my price range

I wouldn't mind selling my Sony DSLR to get a K-3. Then all my Asahi Pentax lenses would swap between my digital and film. #kmountlife

a37. I hate it. I sold my D7000 when I was in a money pinch a few years ago and have regretted it ever since.

Never had any experience of the A37, but I used to have a DSC-H300. The MP was high, but that was the only real thing it had going for it.

I know the feeling; I had to sell some of my old photo gear a year or so back, and now I can't find replacement versions the stuff I had at a price I'd be willing to spend

What were you doing before?

HEY SPEAKING OF PICTURES

Can some of you lot tell me things I should improve about the following picture?

show

There's only minor level work done to it in Lightroom. I don't have a macro lens or really even know what I'm doing.

Are the colors too fakebright?

I think it's a little underexposed and needs the white balance nudged to the warmer side. The thing about flower photos is that you gotta make sure the background is just as interesting as the subject. Behind the flower is a little busy which takes away from the really good detail you got on the actual subject petals.

Hm okay. So that just means frame the shot better and put more thought into what is behind the the subject, other than "vague greenery"?

FWIW I love 1) hiking and 2) the wildflowers I see on hikes (although this pic is from a mid-bloom variety in my front "yard"), so I plan on taking pictures of random flowers as one of my more frequent ventures.

Nudging the white balance to the warmer side? What exactly do you mean lol

Pretend you're talking to a moron.

edit: scratch that. You're talking to a moron

Blue = Colder

Yellow = Warmer
