Me playing "Tears in Heaven" and other songs on nylon string

Hey guys,

I started playing the guitar 2 years ago and i play classical guitar in particular for one year.

I've recently uploaded some videos of me playing to youtube and I'd be really happy if you could check it out and give me some feedback.

Anyway, here it is:

I have a question, I noticed in the third video your using a mic. What's your setup like? I really like it and need something similar for audio.

I use a cheap usb mic (http://www.musicstore.de/en_EN/EUR/...-REC0008045-000) and i place it on the same height as the sound hole and next to the 12th fret , about 15 cm away from the guitar. I hope this helps you

I'v always improved on classical guitar when I take on pieces that are just outside my current skill level and just go through them very slowly. While in the meantime building repertoire with easier pieces. I have found Bach pieces to be great for technique.

As far as the pieces go I thought they sounded great.

I did notice, at least from what I watched is that your right hand was kind of staying in the same position at all times. One thing you want to do is experiment with different sounds by moving the right hand. (closer to the bridge, over the sound hole etc...) When you play a motif and it is then repeated try changing the colors on the repeat. That is just one thing that can really help the guitar sing.

Another thing, and it didn't sound like a big problem for you, is to make sure the melody stays really connected and everything is sustained for the correct amount of time. Best way to do this is with a metronome.

I, like you, started on electric and now play classical. Those are just a couple pointers that when playing electric guitar you don't think about as much.

Thanks a lot for your help! I do also play some Bach pieces, because i love the music and I'm playing the villa lobos etudes to improve my technique.

And you are right i don't vary my tone enought for example by staying in one place iwth my right hand... i mean just look at per olov kindgren on youtube( altough he goes over the top)
And i have to also work on the sustain of each note and the linking, but it's really hard
