Do you guys know abot the 80's japanese guitar hero, Akira Takasaki? He's got some sick technical skill and speed. He's one of the guys who took what EVH did and took it to a whole new level. At the end of the solo in slaughterhouse, according to a tab, he plays septuplets at, give or take, 170 bpm, which is 19.8 nps and there are several songs and live solos where he hits 16-17 nps with alternate picking, legato, sweep, and tapping. He tends to be blistering all the time, actualy.
The live version of his "exploder" pretty much sums it up: |
