Saw them live. Boring.

My opinion: Biffy Clyro and Twin Atlantic deserve international recognition.

I'm already 1 for 1 in predicting a band's mainstream success (fun.). I think I'll quit while I'm ahead.

Twin Atlantic got their name out with that really unnecessary skrillex remix

The cheesy poppiness with the vocals really gets unbearable for me after a while though haha, I mean they know what they are doing and are overall a pretty tight rock band with cool ideas, but I feel like they are pandering to the mainstream a bit which really shows in their songs. Same deal with Moneen.

EDIT: But uuh, to be on topic, that's the exact reason they will get more popular

Yeah I think I agree with you. They've only released two albums, it'll be interesting to see what directions they'll still take.

Biffy are dropping a double album. I kinda want them to hit the big mainstream, but then again, I don't. I hate seeing douchebags acting like they love the band. #hipsterfag

Its a prediction not fact. You might be right but quite frankly I think they could make a splash with this album. They aren't that well known. I'm not saying theyre going to soar up the billboard charts, I'm saying they're going to get much more popular this coming year. Relatively speaking that really doesn't mean a whole lot; they aren't a very popular band to begin with.

For the sake of conversation, do you think they won't get more popular solely because of that genre having a low ceiling, or for other reasons?

lol at you for countless things

You said it perfectly with the low ceiling. People generally have a favorable appreciation of them; I've not met someone that hates them. However, for the sake of answering the thread's title and purpose, they will fall short.

Again, it's nothing against the band, it's just that there are more popular bands with a similar sound, that stand a better chance. Animals was a tight album, and 26 is Dancier Than 4 is siiiiickkkk.

I think The Safety Fire will break out in the prog metal scene soon, their album is great and they supported BTBAM on their UK tour in October and will support The Faceless in February.

They're great.

disagree on kool a.d. (even though he is awesome) and chief keef (even though he is awesome), but agree 100% on the trap music.
