Well, sounds clear enough, not too bad. For my taste the kick is bit too clicky without too much actual low end.

Guitars sound fine, bass could do some work, a bit more 'oomph' in the low end.

The most annoying thing was with the synths and piano, they sound lifeless and unmixed in general. It's very apparent when listen them playing by themselves, not that bad when they're over everything else. You should play around with note velocities to add some life in to it. Also drums sound to have some misaligned sounds at some parts.

On the whole it could do with some light compressing on the master to glue everything together, and maybe a reverb bus to send some of the sound for the same purpose.

Thanks! It was one of my first mix's but I plan on redoing everything. I got all the stems from another forum for mixing practice. But will definitely make some changes.

Hey guys,

Trying out some new tones on my kemper, New superior drummer setting, let me know what you think, no criticism is bad criticism.

Cheers

id like some tips for my recording. I purely recorded it as a way to figure out my new interface/cubase/wavelab.

not too bad for one take per instrument..

just would like advice/tips for the actual recording, not the song.
cheers guys

May as well post it here too

Any thoughts. My speaker placement is screwed, so I referenced it on cans and gave it a go.

Loud guitars, dry drums and not too much bass = perfect mix for goblin metal! The vocalist kicks ass!

My recent version of a Finnish radio megahit (instrumental metal):

Looking for some advice on my acoustic recording. A friend and I are going to be gigging soon, and i want to start a YouTube channel to present to potential venues/booking agents.

I'm using a TASCAM DP-004 with two MXL mics. What do you guys think of the overall presentation?

please have a listen to these mixes:

This is a song I recorded for my friends' band a few years ago and the past two nights I have been remixing it. It's def too bassy and needs more high end or air. And I feel like it needs something to "glue" it together.

This is a teaser from my bands album we're working on. Just a quick breakdown really. I think it is sounding good so far....any thoughts?

Sounds pretty good so far. Here is what stood out to me first listen:

-drums are too quiet
-cymbals maybe too loud but that might be from the other drums being quiet
-ride cymbal is too pingy and stands out too much
-rhythm guitars are a little bit muddy
