So basically I want to play Easy by Faith No More with a few friends of mine, but they wanted to transpose it down 3 half steps... Now as a beginner guitar player I have no idea how I could do that easily with the solo.

So can anyone link me any theory or explain me how to transpose this down 3 half steps?

Play everything 3 frets lower than written in the tab.

ex:
Instead of------15---13---12----

Play------------12---10---9-----

Guitar is one of the easiest instrument to transpose. I hated having to do that sort of thing on a piano. Although the musical intervals are pretty much the same, the muscle memory was not since. The only place it gets tricky on guitar is if you run out of room on the fretboard on your way down the neck.

Synthesizers make it very easy with the transpose button, hehe.
