Carvin's customer service and warranty is great. It sounds like you had the same problem as mine. The preamp tubes went out on mine a little after getting it. There is only a certain amount of time they'll replace them under warranty.

Judging by what you've said about your settings, try setting your master volume high 5 and up, then adjust your channel volume settings. You can get really high gain and more sustain on channels 1 and 2. Once you get the new one back.

sorry to hear that. good thing it died so early, though, since you get a replacement so easily.

well the 10 day period is no questions asked. they even take care of shipping. i literally put the box on the door. they dispatched soembody to get it, and put another one in the mail.

there is a 1 year warranty but that would imply i box and ship it. 20 pounds to california would be a good bit of money and effort. this was seamless.

even then, they would probably try to trouble shoot and fix parts. this 10 day period was a brand new swap no questions. great service.
____

the second batch of settings i had i was getting quite good high gain type stuff.

^ yeah exactly. you need to read the small print with warranties. it's very annoying if it turns up DOA (or near enough in your case), but if the thing was going to break, far better it breaks within the free return and replace period.
