La Dispute Screams
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum
How can I do screamo like Jordan Dreyer from La Dispute? I have an extremely low voice, I don't know if that'd affect how high I can get my screams to be

Jordan really doesn't "scream" like most vocalists. I've always thought of it to be more of a yell, for lack of a better word, with a shit ton of emotion.

Is there a way I could do that.without killing my voice? Or should I just say to hell with out and yell until my voice goes out?

I probably don't "get" it in the same sense that you "get" it. I started listening to it a few days ago along with a bunch of actual screamo artists and I was just wondering how he does what he does

he doesn't do it safely more often than not
like i said, his lyrics are all poetry and it's spoken word. a lot of his screaming is outright yelling for effect rather than typical screaming vocals just don't let it hurt and use your diaphragm. look at the screaming/growling thread in this subforum and watch the wayne hudspath vid and you'll be on the right track
